The Chairman and other members of the Advisory Council, Representatives of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the representative of BOTAVED, the movers and shakers of the Media educations and industry here present, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan (Prof. Afis Oladosu); the HOD, Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibdan (Prof. Ayobami Ojebode), the Matriculation Guest Speaker; our distinguished students, gentlemen of theJ press, ladies and gentlemen… 

I am highly delighted to welcome you all to this Matriculation Ceremony and Orientation Ceremony, the second edition of this prestigious academy of learning. TNM Media Academy is the pioneer media academy with government approval in Oyo State. The Academy which has been operating informally for about two decades now got government approval and accredited by relevant agency last year. Since November last year when the maiden edition of our matriculation ceremony was held, we have trained close to a hundred students who will graduate with Ordinary and Advance Certificate in Basic Broadcasting, Advertising and Public Speaking. Their convocation will be held before the end of this year.

Today, The Academy is matriculating over 100 students into Ordinary and Advance Certificate programmes in media-allied professional practice like Broadcasting, Advertising, Public Speaking and Journalism. By the next academic diet, we have completed plans to expand our academic programmesto accommodate more areas of media profession and vocation. Our vision is to provide 100% practical training in all media-allied vocations. Our training targets conversion of talent to marketable skills. At TNM Media Academy, we blend both practical and theory such that the conventional line between training and practice thaws away like ice under the sun.

The Academy is equipped with state-of-the-art facility to train our students under the tutelage of qualified, competent and experienced tutors from the academia and the media industry. We expose our students to the nitty-gritty of media and communication profession with full adherence to the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Code which is the constitution of broadcasting in Nigeria.

I am delighted to inform you all that TNM Media Academy is the only accredited partner of THE U.K-based World Students Advisors (WSA) to assist Nigerians process admission into foreign universities outside the shores of Nigeria. Our aim is to extend the partnership to the level of exchange academic programmes between TNM Media Academy and foreign universities such that our students will have some taste of training from well-established institutions of higher learning from the developed countries.

I, once again, appreciate the Zonal Director of NBC, Ibadan Zonal Office and his team for their support and supervision of our activities. NBC remains our backbone and we recognize that clearly. The Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education under the leadership of Mrs. E. C. Esan-Williams has also been of very beneficial support to our operations since the accreditation last year. We appreciate your interest in the education and career development of Nigerians. I also thank the members of our Advisory Council- Prof. Ayobami Ojebode, Prof. Afis Oladosu and Dr. A. O. Salami for your kindness, professional guide and moral supports. More powers to your elbow.

I employ our very excited matriculating students to concentrate with rapt attention while our globally recognized guest speaker delivers his speech. TNM is not trial and error. We are doing what we know how to do. We will give you the skill and train you how to commercialize it.
